The Convention on Wetlands, called the Ramsar Convention, is an intergovernmental treaty that provides the framework for national action and international cooperation for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources.
The convention entered into force in India on 1 February 1982. India currently has 27 sites. PROUDLY, BASIWOODS comes under one of its sites.
Under the National Wetland Conservation programme, there are total 68 such places, which have been marked for conservation in the country. This list includes 35 mangroves, 4 coral areas and 10 urban lakes.
These wetland sites have been identified based upon Ramsar criteria, which are classified on the basis of waterfowl population, domains of various plant or animal species, biodiversity, cultural aspects, religious and sacred sanctities, socio-economic aspects, sustainable fisheries, traditional knowledge, etc.
In addition to this, the proposed National Wetland Strategy also puts an immense focus on the importance of wetlands for water supply, coastal protection, food security and improvement of livelihood of wetland people.

How do I pay for my booking ?
You can contact us for booking. Prepaid bookings are charged in advance at the time of confirmation. Flexible rate bookings also require credit card for payment guarantee, but are charged at the time of check out.
What are the check-in and check-out times ?
Check-in time at The Basiwoods Resort and Adventure Camping is 14:00 and the check-out time is 12:00. We will of course do our best to have a room available for you whenever you arrive. However, this can never be guaranteed and is dependent on the occupancy level the night before. If you are planning to arrive early then you may wish to book your room from the night before. If you are departing late, special rates are available for late check out.
Do you charge for cancellations ?
The cancellation policy of each hotel varies according to the property and the time of year. In the high season, we apply a stricter policy than during the low season. Full details will be advised to you at the time of booking.
